here we go again....

well we have had a couple of changes over the last week. Jackson was fighting his feedings more and more. so we had a couple of doctor appointments and a swallow study done. We found out that with one of the bottle nipples we were using Jackson was aspirating. so we had to change to a slower nipple. We also found out that  Jackson has a weak suck. So after a long discussions with both our pediatrician and the high risk followup clinic it was decided that Jackson should get a NG feeding tube like he had in the hospital. so we will attempt to bottle feed him and anything he doesn't take we will pump in. he will also start working with a speech therapist  to develop his sucking skills. and lastly we are taking him to see a GI specialist, since he is still having issues with reflux. Of course we are both sad that we had to go back on a feeding tube, but it is the best for Jackson. He was gaining weight and growing, but he was developing feeding aversions, so we wanted to try and stop it before he completely stopped taking the bottle.

last week Jackson's Grandma Pat and Aunt Morgan came for a visit. They had a wonderful time entertaining Jackson and he was all smiles for them. Below are some of the pics Morgan took while she was here.

May 15th, 2011

So things have been going pretty well.  Jackson has been quite busy.  It was his first mother's day, and he made dad take him out shopping to pick out a card.  Dad even used Jackson's hand to sign it.  He keeps on getting bigger and bigger, and is eating a little better.  Both mom and dad have now gone back to work, and Jackson goes with mommy to work.  She even packs him a lunch.  He also went to his first mass and a wedding yesterday.  Now that he is all inoculated, and flu, cold, and RSV season is over we are taking him to some more places.

Once again
Jackson found a new girlfriend to flirt with at the wedding.  That's why he always goes to weddings without a date.

Thanks to Tim and Melissa for having us out at their wedding

Jackson keeps on growing bigger and bigger.  He is over 12 lbs now and almost 2 feet long.  We've met with his pediatrician last week, and he is very pleased with his progress.  He's not "breaking any records" but is growing faster than a normal child f seven months.  We've changed up his medicine to Prevacid which seems to be helping his reflux better.  He still has bad feedings, but overall he is doing well.

We have been getting more brave about taking him out some more.  Jackson is quite the ladies man when we go out with him.  Jackson is like the best wing man there is.  He can't embarrass you, he won't say the wrong thing, but he always attracts hordes of women.

We did leave Jackson for the first time since we took him home with someone other than his nurse.  Greg's parents were in town for his 30th birthday, and Jackson stayed home with them while Greg and Julia went to a crawfish boil.
